Like so many others, I’ve witnesses the ebb and flow of our downtown’s fortunes. It’s a story familiar to small towns across the country: the steady hum of daily life punctuated by the excitement of new businesses opening their doors, followed by the inevitable challenge of sustaining them.
Recently, we’ve welcomed two new businesses into the heart of Orono. Their arrival brings a sense of renewal and possibility, but it also serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges our downtown faces. There’s an undeniable excitement that comes with seeing new storefronts light up on our main street.
