In less than a week, on October 24 – hopefully before midnight, we will have a new municipal council. Those eligible to vote can do so now online or by telephone.

I attended the mayor’s debate in Tyrone last Thursday, hoping to get a glimpse of – and maybe hear a few words from the ‘invisible’ mayoral candidate. Nope. The same goes for councillor candidates who have been MIA.

This was the fourth debate, forum, candidates’ meeting – however you want to spin it, the three mayor hopefuls have attended. Each one with one goal – to get your vote. Throughout the campaign incumbent, Mayor Foster has invited voters to read his resume. He is applying for the job of mayor and we the voters have the responsibility of hiring the most qualified person for the job.
