The Poppy – 100 Years of Remembrance

A simple flower, immortalized by the words of Lieutenant Colonel John McRae during the First World War – “In Flanders Fields the poppies grow, Between the crosses, row on row, that mark our place.” Today, that same crimson bloom for a couple weeks each autumn is found upon the chests of Canadians across the country.
