The dog days of summer are upon us. Hot, humid, lazy days. I used to think that Dog Days had to do with the hound’s aptitude for seeking the coolest, shadiest spot and napping away the afternoon. Then, I learned that it actually has to do with the appearance of Sirius, the Dog Star, appearing just before dawn alongside the sun. Now, I actually think of dog days as being those days when it’s just too hot to cook so you toss a couple hot dogs on the grill, and wash them down with a cold drink.
