Since those immortal words of “Mr. Watson, come here; I want you,” phones have played a significant role in modern life. That phrase of course is the first telephone communication, transmitted by Alexander Graham Bell himself. It dates back to 1876, and in 1878, Bell demonstrated the device to Queen Victoria who proclaimed it to be “quite extraordinary”. Since that time, we’ve been hooked.
