Summer – that went quick. Council has been on hiatus since July 5 and although I welcome the break from the late-night Monday meetings, there are few things that need attention.
One in particular I am sure Newcastle residents would like to see resolved; the state of Brookhouse Gate.
On May 19 word got out that the condo board and the developer were working on resolving their outstanding issues. Fabulous. At the time they were to report to the municipality the following week. The municipality would then ask for proposals on timeframes to get the work done. Finally, there was a glimmer of hope shed on the issue.
A little shade was cast in June – the municipality was engaged but things were moving slowly. Yet another meeting was held that entertained more discussion on the matter. A meeting was held on June 11 and although some progress had been made, residents were seeing no results forthcoming.
