Staying the course

As we head into September the pandemic has been in Ontario since January 22, 2020 – seven months and four days. On March 17 – which seems like a lifetime ago, Premier Doug Ford declared a state of emergency, the province shut down and everything came to a halt.

Not quite Spring – which is unofficially the start of event season, many organizations and event venues were scrambling, they had to make some tough calls. Do we cancel everything in 2020? At first it was Spring events – a no brainer. Once Canada Day became a virtual event and the EX was cancelled it looked pretty bleak until the end summer.

Then slowly the province opened to phase 2 and then phase 3. Our social bubbles and circles expanded. Oh, happy day! We could finally relax…but not too much.

We know this for sure – as long as there is community transfer, the realities continue.
