Social Circle or Social Gathering

As of 5:44 pm this Saturday it’s summer. Durham Region has received the go ahead to move forward this Friday to Stage 2 of the provinces reopening strategy. As COVID-19 safety measures ease, we have to be diligent in following the rules – no one wants to go backwards.

The province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams said on Friday, June 12 that he is allowing people to create ‘social circles’ of up to 10 people who can interact without physical distancing. Up until now it was recommended that we physically/social distance from anyone outside of our household. A ‘social circle’ is separate from the change the province made earlier last week to ‘social gatherings’, to which they expanded the number of people in a gathering from five to ten people.
