Planets violate social distancing

The shortest day of the year is on Monday December 21, the winter solstice, which marks the official beginning of winter. This year, it also marks the date of a rare astronomical event referred to as “the great conjunction,” as Jupiter and Saturn will appear the closest they’ve been in the night sky since 1623.
