Brody, Essi and Kyleen were out early on Saturday morning at the end of their driveway in Orono selling homemade delectable treats to raise money to pack ‘shoeboxes’ for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. On Saturday the siblings raised over $1000 to buy items to pack shoebox gifts. In many cases this may be the only gift a child receives. If anyone would like to help pack Shoeboxes a group will be meeting at the Newcastle Fellowship Baptist Church on November 11. On October 13, 547 shoebox gifts were packed. Shoebox gifts are packed for children under 17 and for adults. For more information, gift suggestions or to donate visit SamaritiansPurse.ca. National Collection Week is the third week of November.
