On September 19 and 20, the Newcastle Lions Club is hosting a bottle drive to raise funds for the Clarington Hospice, the five-bed facility which will be built on a two-acre (0.8 hectare) portion of land on Cobbledick Road donated by the Municipality of Clarington Council. The hospice will serve individuals who face a palliative diagnosis and is aimed at improving quality of life and reducing suffering.
