Newcastle Memorial Park was bursting with red and white as the community enjoyed games, balloons and clowns, live music and a magic show.
Kicking off the festivities was a decorated bicycle parade led by Uniman.
Mayor Foster and MP Kim Rudd judged the bike parade and then cut the cake.
There was lots of food and treats to eat and you could even tour a fire truck.
Fireworks ended the day hosted by Newcastle’s Canada Day Committee.
