On Sunday, June 28, Rev. Augusto Nunez, St. Saviour’s, Orono, loaded up his van to deliver donated items to local migrant workers. The Durham Region Migrant Work Ministry has been collecting food and clothing items for farms throughout our region. items that are needed: rice, bread, tuna, sardines, cooking oil, water bottles, red peas/kidney beans, condensed milk, coffee, cornmeal and sugar. Clothing items: t-shirts, hoodies, baseball hats, wide brim hats and work boots. Donations can be dropped off at St. Saviour’s, 23 Mill St, Orono, Tuesdays from 10 am to 1 pm or Saturday from 3 pm-4 pm. If you need items picked up at any other time, contact Rev. Augusto at 416-886-4482. Rev. Augusto and volunteers will be delivering again to the farms Sunday, July 5.
