On Saturday, May 14, representatives from Girl Guides 2nd Newcastle were outside their headquarters at Newcastle United Church selling the traditional Girl Guide cookies. Sales were brisk, and funds raised go toward supporting activities and outings such as camping, rock climbing and curling, popular parts of this year’s program for the Sparks, Brownies, Guides, Pathfinders and Rangers. Girls ages 5 through 17 take part in weekly programs. The motto is ‘Girl Greatness Starts Here’. Online registrations will be opening soon at girlguides.ca.
