With a wind chill of -8 degrees Celsius, dedicated birders and citizen scientists like James and Lynda Kamstra spent Sunday, January 10 along the blustery shores of Lake Ontario, contributing their expertise in the annual Lake Ontario Mid-winter Waterfowl Inventory. Rely-ing on split-second reflexes and their impressive estimation skills, they are able count hundreds of waterfowl.
