Clarington’s Citizen Scientists

On Saturday morning, approximately 200 people gathered at the Port of Newcastle Waterfront Park on the shore of Lake Ontario to participate in tagging monarch butterflies and tracking their incredible fall migration. Hosted by Clarington’s Samuel Wilmot Nature Area (SWNA) Management Advisory Committee, the event provided a brilliant opportunity for families, budding naturalists, delighted grandparents and excited children of all ages to become citizen scientists for the day
