A farmer outstanding in his field, Gary Zuters of Tallboots Farm in Newtonville is doing his part with social distancing by working alone pruning raspberries, clearing away old canes to help new canes produce fruit for the upcoming season. Tallboots Farm is known for its hard-to-find, unusual varieties of raspberries that come in purple, yellow, red and black, as well blackberries and black and red currants. Raspberries will be ready starting in early July. Hopefully, the summer will see Farmers Markets and opportunities for pick-your-own. Tallboots also produces special blends of preserves, jams, salsas, and relishes available all year long.
