Looking back through the oldest editions of the Orono Times, the number of skating parties that were held through our long, cold winters hints that a figure skating club would quickly find itself popular in our local community. True enough, The Orono Figure Skating Club was founded in 1957, bringing to our village a new sporting venture. And it did indeed prove popular.
