Incinerator expansion up in the air
A decision by regional council on whether or not to begin the incinerator expansion process has been delayed until June.
Time Changes - an impressive production
Time Changes … was viewed Friday night by almost a full house. The scene is a retirement residence in Clarington. Six students show up to speak with seniors about their early lives. While waiting, the students are given stories written by the seniors to give them something to discuss. Conversation leads their imagination to interpret the stories.
Ah spring…finally. But first that awkward in-between season I like to call Winring. Winter’s dirty ring around spring. You know that dreadful look of discarded litter after the snow and ice melts.
Unlike what seemed to be the longest winter in history, Winring is short-lived thanks to the amazing superheroes in our communities.
Yes folks, its community spring cleanup time. This year the magic happens on Saturday, April 27, in the Village of Orono; and, in Newcastle at the Samuel Wilmot Nature Area and at Bond Head.
A community cleanup program instills pride. A cleanup encourages residents to take ownership of the neighbourhood and keep it clean and healthy - it gives everyone a chance to contribute.
