About three years ago, then 18-year-old Abagayle Acheson, was busy doing what many young people her age were doing, working full time and going to post secondary school. Her father, Bryan Acheson, a self-employed purveyor of firewood to homes and businesses in the area, approached her just before COVID with the idea of sourcing local fruits and vegetables to keep costs down and selling them to the public. That was the beginning of the highly popular business which people now know as ‘The Veggie Shack’.
