Last week, Canada lost an important member of our political history. Ed Broadbent was born March 21, 1936 in Oshawa, ON, the son of a General Mo-tors auto-worker who held strong Conservative opinions. A Philosophy degree from the University of Toronto however, reportedly introduced him to the ideals of a fairer and more balanced life where opportunity – supported by the state – existed for all.

Orono U18 T1 Leafs scorers explode in third period

Tuesday, Jan 9 – Playing in Orono, the T1 Leafs and Clarington T2 Thunder battled score-less through the first two periods of action. The defensive standstill was punctured by a five goal explosion by the Leafs in the final frame as the Leafs claimed a 5-1 win.
