Keith Wood – A legend

It is assumed, when a person reaches a certain age, they forget a few things. Not so with Keith Wood. A recent chat with Keith reveals his memory is just fine, and he’d like to share a bit of it with us. “I go back a long way.” That will be 92 years this May.

Updates On the Ganaraska Forest Closure

As of May 1st, 2023, the GRCA anticipates the majority of Ganaraska Forest trails will be available for all recreational activities. Staff are also work-ing with municipalities to re-open and continue using many existing access points for the same time period.

The undefeated Orono U-13 T1 Leafs hosted the purple and gold of Clarington T4 Saturday night at the Princess Street Gardens. After defeating Clarington 3-1 in a tight game Sunday past, Orono was looking to come out strong. Come out strong they did.

OAAA presents top-notch All-Star affair

Saturday afternoon at the Orono Arena and Community Centre was abuzz with a large congregation of hockey fans on hand to watch the Victoria-Durham Hockey League U18 All-Star game. The mid-season classic featured an East vs West clash of titians. Teams were made up of top players from the various clubs in the loop. The East drew players from the Orono Leafs, Newcastle Stars, Millbrook Stars, Ennismore Eagles and Oshawa B Generals. After all the festivities and game action, the West won a tight 6-5 game over the East.
